Daniel Kidd – Farm Services Manager
Hi, I’m Daniel, a local lad born and bred.
I have 2 children whom I spend a lot of time running around after but when I get a chance I enjoy playing basketball and attempting to run half marathons.
I have been involved in the vet industry for the last 9.5 years; firstly 7 years with Stratford Vets out on the road dealing with farmers then the last 2.5 years with an animal health company working with vet clinics.
I look forward to having a chat in the near future
Joan Hughes – Office Manager
Began at EDVS in 1989 and has been keeping us all in line since then.
After all that time Joan has decided to retire and finished here on Friday 24th November and was replaced as Practice manager by Leigh Laurence. Joan leaves with one heck of a legacy and very big boots to fill.
Joan will spend her retirement having as many adventures as she can cram in (and afford) while also spending more time with her family, in particular her grandchildren, of which she has many. All our love and best wishes on a very well deserved retirement Joan.
John Larkin – Trading Manager
Born and bred in Eltham, John has been trading manager since 1998. Reponsibilities include product purchasing, stock control, promotions and farm deliveries.
As well as finding the time for on farm enquires or calling for a chat and a cup of tea. Outside work interests include Rugby, 2001 Taranaki Senior third competition Champions, squash and fishing when he can find the time (do me a favour-when he can find the time?!). In recent years John has become a top class road cyclist, lost heaps of weight & now looks like he could do with a decent feed. He has completed numerous Round the Mountain Cycle Races and the infamous Round the Lakes Cycle challenge in Taupo. His next adventure includes a North Island Cycle Tour & a trip to France to follow the Tour de France where he will get an opportunity to cycle a few of the more famous legs
Leigh Laurence – Practice Manager
Hi I’m Leigh
I have recently started the daunting job of trying to learn all the knowledge that exists in Joan’s head before she retires, and I take over as the Practice Manager. I have a lot to learn!
I am born and bred in New Plymouth and apart from stints studying in Palmy at Massey University and living in Wellington to play rugby I have lived in New Plymouth my whole life.
I have spent the last 9 years as a teacher of Business and Enterprise studies at NPGHS, and whilst I thoroughly enjoyed my time there I decided it was time for a new challenge. I will let you know in a few months if this was a completely crazy decision!
Sport has always been a big passion of mine and I love rugby, netball, basketball, and surf lifesaving and have only recently retired from competitive netball. I know enjoy spending my time with my partner Shane, our three dogs and we both love to go fishing as often as we can.
I look forward to meeting you all in the coming months.
